Personalised Concert and Theatre Ticket Keepsakes: A Gift for Music and Show Lovers

The paper ticket used to be the thing you kept. You'd find it months later in a coat pocket, creased and faded, and it would take you straight back to the night. Most gigs and shows are digital now, so there's nothing to hold on to and nothing to frame. That's the gap a foiled ticket keepsake fills. We take the details of a real night out, a concert, a gig or a show, and set them in foil on a proper card ticket you can keep on a shelf or slip into a card.

We're Duffy's Creations, a husband and wife studio in Hessle. Lee and Sam make these by hand, and every one starts at £10, with any foil colour adding £1. Here are six ways people give them.

1. The gig you went to together

This is the one most people start with. You pick a night you both remember, and we lay it out like a ticket: the name of the act, the venue and the date, with the seat information if you have it. If you were standing, we just print General Admission, so a festival set or a standing gig works fine. You choose Admit One, Admit Two or Admit Three, so it reads as a ticket for the two of you, or for the whole group who went. 2. A night at the theatre

Not every keepsake is a concert. A trip to see a musical, a play or a panto is just as worth keeping, and the same idea works for it. The Personalised Theatre / Show Ticket takes the show name, the venue and the date, with the row and seat number if you want them on there. It's a good gift for someone who saw a show that meant something to them, or for a pair who make a night at the theatre their yearly treat. Same £10 start, same £1 for a foil colour.

3. Add a picture of the act or the show

If you want more than words, there are versions with artwork on the ticket. You can also put the recipient's name on the ticket and add a personal message. If you have a specific look in mind, there's a box for design requests, and we'll send a proof before anything is printed so you can see it first.

4. A first concert they'll remember

A first gig is a milestone, especially for a teenager or a younger fan seeing someone they love for the first time. A ticket keepsake marks it in a way a phone photo doesn't. Put the act, the date and the venue on it, add the child's name, and it becomes a little record of the night that can sit on a bedroom shelf. It's an easy follow up gift too, something to hand over a week after the show when the excitement has settled.

5. The night you met, or the one you missed

Plenty of couples met at a gig, or count a certain show as their first proper date. A ticket for that night makes a thoughtful anniversary or Valentine's gift, and you don't need the original stub, just the details. It also works the other way. If a tour was cancelled, or you never managed to get to a show that mattered to someone, a ticket keepsake can stand in for the night that didn't happen. A line of lyrics or a short message at the bottom carries the rest.

6. Choosing the card and foil

The look comes down to two choices. The card comes in white, black or navy, and the foil comes in over 30 shades, from gold, silver and copper metallics to rose gold holographic and rainbow glitter. One honest tip, straight from the studio: if you pick a black card, a dark foil can get lost against it, so a metallic or a lighter shade tends to read better. If you'd rather leave it to us, there's an Artist's recommendation option and we'll choose a foil that suits the card. The plain white card with no foil is the £10 option, and any foil colour adds £1.

Made to order in Hessle, proof before we print

Every ticket is made to order in our studio in Hessle (HU13), not run off a machine somewhere. Once you've sent your details, we set them out, foil the card by hand and send you a proof to check. Nothing is printed until you're happy with it, which matters when a name, a date or a venue has to be spelled exactly right. Because each one is personalised to you, these can't be returned for a change of mind, so that proof is your chance to catch anything before it's made.
