Personalised Football Prints: Which One Fits Your Family

Football prints are the thing dads ask us about most, and the thing people get most stuck choosing. Not because the designs are complicated, but because there are a lot of them and the differences are easy to miss on a listing page. The range splits by how many children are in the picture, and for a single child it splits again by age. Here is the whole thing laid out, in the order you need to decide it.

What these prints actually show

The Daddy and Me football prints are illustrated, not photographic. A dad and his children are drawn in the shirts of a team you choose, each with their own name and squad number on the back, under a heading you write yourself. Not photo collages, not clip art, drawn to the details you send us.

That matters, because the number of figures is fixed by the design. A print drawn for a dad and one child cannot have a second child added later. Pick the right one first and the rest is easy.

One dad, one child: pick by age

With one child in the picture, the design changes with age, because a baby in a kit does not sit the same way a nine year old does. The versions we make:

There is a gap between the 1-2 and the 5-8 versions at the moment. If your child is three or four, the 5-8 is usually the closer fit. Send us their age and we will size the figure on the proof.

Two, three or four children

Past one child, you choose by headcount rather than age. Everyone gets their own kit, name and number:

Mixed ages are fine. We size the figures from the ages you give us, so a fifteen year old and a four year old will not come out the same height.

What each extra child adds

Every child in the artwork adds a pound or two at each size, which explains why two prints that look similar are priced differently. Taking the A5 print on its own:

  • Dad and one child, £14

  • Dad and two children, £16

  • Dad and three children, £17

  • Dad and four children, £18

The same step applies up the sizes. A framed A5 in black or white runs from £17 for one child to £21 for four, a framed A4 from £23 to £27, a framed A3 from £35 to £39. Grey frames cost a pound or two more at every size, and a mount on an A4 or A3 is £2.

What we need from you

The order form asks for more than most personalised prints do, because the artwork is drawn rather than assembled:

  • A title, up to 60 characters. This is the big heading, something like My Daddy and Me.

  • A sub-title, optional, up to 80 characters. Something like Number 1 Liverpool Fans.

  • The team, and which kit. Home, away or third, because the colours differ.

  • Names and numbers, one person per line.

  • A hairstyle code for each person. M for men, B for boys, G for girls.

  • A skin tone for each person. Light, medium, tan or dark, or just describe it in your own words and we will match it on the proof.

None of it has to be perfect first time. Every order gets a proof by email before we print, and that is when you change a hairstyle, fix a spelling or move a number. There is a longer version in how to personalise your order.

If the print is for the child, not the dad

Plenty of people buy from this range for the player, not the parent. Different prints suit that:

If they follow Hull City

Two prints are drawn from the ground itself and not personalised at all, which makes them a safe choice when you do not know squad numbers or shirt preferences. The MKM Stadium Hull City print and the MKM Stadium Hull FC rugby print come in a daytime or night-time version, from £10 for an A5 print and £14 framed. More on the local range in our Hull City gift ideas guide.

Sizes and frames

Every print here comes as A5, A4 or A3, on its own or framed. The frames are solid wood, made in the UK, in black, white or grey. There is no fourth colour, so if you are matching frames already on a wall, those are the three to work with.

The front is 1.2mm acrylic rather than glass, which is deliberate. These prints end up in children's bedrooms, often above a bed, and acrylic does not shatter if a ball finds it. If you are unsure on size, what size print should I buy works through it against real wall measurements.

Before you order

These are made to order in our studio in Hessle, so nothing sits on a shelf. It also means personalised prints are not returnable if you change your mind, which is why the proof matters. Read it properly when it lands. We would rather redraw a hairstyle than post out a print with your son's name spelled wrong. Ordering early for Christmas leaves more room for that back and forth.

Where to start

For a dad, start with the football prints collection and pick by how many children are in the picture. For a child who plays, the sports collection and children's prints are better starting points. For everything else we make for dads, there is for dad and gifts for him.

Our Daddy and Me prints guide covers why these prints land the way they do, rather than how to pick one.
