Personalised Christmas Gift Ideas: Everything We Make, By Budget

Christmas is the one time of year we end up making almost everything at once. Cards in the morning, a letter from Santa at lunch, a family print in the afternoon, and Lee usually foiling tickets while the tea goes cold. So it made sense to put the whole festive range in one place.

This is a guide to what we make for Christmas, sorted by roughly what you would spend, with links through to the longer guides on each range. Every price here comes straight off the product pages as we write this. Everything is made to order by the two of us in Hessle, and you see a proof before we print anything.

Under £5: cards and Santa labels

The cheapest thing we make that still has someone's name on it is a Christmas card. Every card in the range is £3.95, 6x6, printed on 300gsm cardstock with a matching white envelope, blank inside so you write your own message. The personalisation goes on the front, usually a name.

There are two guides depending on the tone you are after. The funny cards cover The Traitors, gamers, pet puns and a few we would not put through your nan's letterbox. The family cards cover the signpost design that holds up to twelve names, baby's first Christmas, couples and the quieter Silent Night option.

The other under-a-fiver thing is Santa labels. They start at £2.50 for ten and go up to £7 for fifty, they carry your child's name and address, and each one has a QR code that opens a Santa tracker. Parents tend to buy them for present labels and then find they get used on everything.

Around £10: the ones that get opened first

Scratch reveal tickets are the range we sell most of in December. They are £10 with the plain white foil, £11 if you want gold, silver, red, green, blue, pink or black, and they have a scratch panel over whatever you are announcing. People hide concert tickets under them, a holiday, a puppy, a proposal, or just a joke.

There are five festive designs and a full write-up in the reveal ticket guide.

The other £10 to £16 group is post from the North Pole. The vintage letter from Santa with a scratch certificate is £11.50, the invite to Lapland is £11.50, the gold foiled train invitation is £10, and the luxury letter that comes with a wishing coin is £16.50. All of them take a child's name, and the guide to the whole lot is in letters from Santa.

£10 to £15: a print that comes back out every December

Christmas family prints are the ones people put up year after year, which makes them better value than the price suggests. There are five designs and they all work the same way: you tell us the characters and the names, we lay it out, you approve the proof.

  • Gingerbread family print, from £10 for A5 print only.

  • Highland cow family print, from £10, with snowy, Christmas hat or holly and berry cows.

  • Snowman family print, from £11.

  • Gonk print, from £11.

  • Stocking print, from £11, one stocking per person.

Framed, an A5 is £15 in any of the three frame colours. A4 is £14 print only or £19 to £20 framed, A3 is £17 print only or £27 to £29 framed, and a mount adds £2 on the larger sizes. The full breakdown is in the Christmas family prints guide.

If you are buying for a child

Children are the easiest people on this list, because the thing they want is the thing that looks like it came from somewhere else. A letter from Santa with their address on it, a Lapland invite, a train invitation in gold foil, labels with a tracker on them. None of it costs much and all of it gets kept in a drawer for years.

If it is a present for a bedroom wall rather than the living room, the gonk and stocking prints suit a child's room, and the front of our frames is 1.2mm acrylic rather than glass, so a knock does not turn into a problem.

If you are buying for an adult who has everything

Two things work here. The first is a reveal ticket, because you are not really giving them an object, you are giving them the moment they scratch the panel and find out you booked something. The second is a print about them specifically: a photo keepsake, or a foiled Spotify lyric print from £14 with the song that means something.

The rest of what we make is not festive but lands perfectly well in December. If you are stuck on a particular person, we have guides for mum, dad and grandparents, and the Gifts for Her and Gifts for Him collections are sorted the same way.

Frames, sizes and the honest bits

The prints come in A5, A4 and A3, print only or framed. Frames are solid wood, made in the UK, and come in black, white or grey. There is no oak, no gold, no float frame, and we would rather say so than have you hunt for an option that does not exist. A mount is available on A4 and A3.

The cards and the Santa letters are flat priced with no size or frame options, so what you see is what it costs.

Two things worth knowing before you order. Personalised items are non-returnable for change of mind, which is why we send a proof and would rather you took your time over it than rushed. And we are two people, not a factory, so December fills up. We are not going to invent a cut-off date here, but ordering in November is a much calmer experience than ordering in the third week of December.

Where to start

If you know roughly what you want, the Christmas collection has the prints, letters and tickets in one place, and Christmas cards has the full card range. If it is the foiled things you are after, they live in Foiled Tickets.

And if you have no idea, start with the person rather than the product. Tell us who it is for and roughly what you had in mind, and we will point you at something. That is usually a faster route than scrolling, and it is the bit of this job we actually enjoy.
