Personalised Christening Gifts: Keepsake Prints for a Naming Day

A christening or a naming day leaves you with a lot of photographs and not much else. The cards go in a drawer. The outfit is grown out of by autumn. What tends to survive is anything with the details written down on it: the full name, the date, and the church or the room where it happened.
We make personalised prints by hand in our studio in Hessle, and the christening prints are one of the things godparents and grandparents ask us for most. Here is what we make, what each one costs, and what we need from you to get it right.
A print with the name, the date and the church on it
The Personalised Christening Gift, Single Name print is built around the details of the day. You tell us the name, the date, the name of the church or venue, and what colour you want the balloons in the design, blue, pink or something else. There is one personalisation box on the product page and all of it goes in there.
Prices start at £8 for an Email PDF, which we send over for you to print or share yourself. A5 print only is £10, and A5 framed is £15 in black, white or grey. A4 print only is £14, framed £19 in black or white and £20 in grey. A3 print only is £17, framed £28 in black or white and £29 in grey. Mounts are offered on A4 and A3 and add £2.
Two names, one frame

Twins get christened together. So do siblings a couple of years apart, and cousins at a joint naming day. The Double Name version puts both names on one print, and the price ladder is identical, £8 for the Email PDF up to £31 for A3 framed in grey with a mount.
Naming days work the same way
Not every family does a church, and the design does not assume one. The venue line takes whatever you give it, so a village hall, a garden or a register office sits on the print as easily as a church name does. The balloon colour is your choice rather than a default, which matters more than it sounds when you are buying for somebody else's baby and have never seen the nursery.
If you want the photograph on there too

Two of our newborn prints take an actual picture. The 3D Balloon Circle print and the 3D Circle Cloud print both have a photo upload field alongside the name, the date and time of birth and the birth weight. The upload is required on both, so have the picture on the device you are ordering from before you start.
Both run £8 for the Email PDF, £10 A5 print only, £15 A5 framed, £14 A4 print only, £19 A4 framed in black or white, and up to £31 for A3 framed in grey with a mount.
Birth details prints, for the wall rather than the day
Godparents often want something that will live on the nursery wall instead of something tied to one afternoon. The birth details prints do that job. They carry the name, the date and time of birth, the birth weight and where the baby was born, in a design picked to suit the room.

Woodland Theme and Pastel Safari Theme. Both £8 for the Email PDF, £10 A5 print only, £15 A5 framed, £14 A4 print only, £17 A3 print only, up to £31 for A3 framed in grey with a mount.
Newborn Rabbit, Pink. This one sits a little lower and has no Email PDF option. A5 print only £10, A5 framed £14 in black or white and £15 in grey. A4 print only £13, framed £18 in black or white and £19 in grey. A3 print only £15, framed £27 in black or white and £28 in grey. Mounts add £2 on A4 and A3.

There are more designs in the same family, including blue, pink, dinosaur, seagull sailor and air transport themes, plus a 3D star version. They are all in baby and newborn prints.
Frames, mounts and the acrylic front
Our frames are solid wood, made in the UK, and they come in black, white or grey. That is the whole list, and we would rather say so than pretend there are twelve.
The front is 1.2mm acrylic rather than glass. If the print is going above a cot, or on a wall a toddler can reach, that is worth knowing. Mounts are offered on A4 and A3 only. A5 framed does not take one.
What we need, and what happens next
Send the name spelled the way it will be read out on the day, the full date, and the venue name as the family writes it. We then design the print and send you a proof before anything goes near the printer. Read it properly. A middle name is much easier to fix at that stage than after.
Orders take 1 to 3 working days to process, which covers designing, proofing, printing, finishing and packing. Weekends and UK bank holidays do not count towards that. After dispatch, Royal Mail Tracked 48 is around two working days, Tracked 24 is the next working day, and Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1pm is the next working day by 1pm under Royal Mail's own terms. If you need it in hand for a specific date, use the contact form first and we will tell you honestly whether we can hit it.
The bit we would rather you read now
Personalised items are non-returnable for change of mind. That is the trade for having a child's name printed on something, and it is exactly why the proof exists. If the mistake is ours, we put it right.
Where to start
Both christening prints and every birth details design sit in baby and newborn prints, and the christening pair are in best sellers as well. The wider baby collection has more if you are buying ahead for a first birthday or a new arrival.
If you are still weighing it up, our guide to personalised newborn birth details prints goes deeper on the birth stats designs, and personalised photo prints covers the photo options in more detail.
Lee and Sam make every one of these to order at the studio in Hessle. If you are stuck on the wording, email us before you order rather than after.
