Personalised House Map Prints: Every Shape We Do, and How to Choose
- #home
- #gift-guide

A house map print takes the place you live, the street, the postcode, the little bend in the road, and turns it into something you can put on a wall. It works for a first home, a house you have lived in for twenty years, or a home you have just left behind. We make ours by hand in our studio in Hessle, and because the whole point is your actual address, we send a proof before anything is printed so you can check the details are right. We do the design in five shapes, and which one you pick changes the whole feel of the piece, so here is a proper look at each.
The five shapes we make
Every shape uses the same idea underneath it, your streets mapped out around your home, with a title line and your address or a short line of text set underneath. What changes is the outline it sits in.
House shape. The map is cut to the outline of a house, roof and all, so it reads as a home from across the room. The straightforward choice for a new-home gift.
Plain heart shape. A clean heart outline with no extra pattern, so the map itself does the work. Suits a wedding, anniversary or a couple's first place together.
Green leaf heart shape. The same heart, framed with a leaf border, a bit softer and more botanical. Works well if the rest of your decor leans green or natural.
Twine heart shape. A heart built from a twine-style border, warmer and more rustic than the plain heart. A nice fit for a farmhouse kitchen or a country-style hallway.
Round eucalyptus shape. A circular map set inside a eucalyptus wreath. It is the softest of the five and sits nicely as a housewarming gift or a Mother's Day print for someone who loves where they live.

What we need from you, and what it costs
All five shapes are personalised the same way. You send us a title (a name, a date, or something like "our first home") and the address or postcode you want mapped, and we set the streets out around it. Pricing is the same across all five shapes: from £8 as an Email PDF you can print yourself, £10 for an A5 print, up to £15 framed in black, white or grey. An A4 print is £14, framed up to £22 with a grey mount, and an A3 goes up to £31 framed. We send a proof of the actual map before we print, so you can check the streets and spelling are right, which matters more here than on almost anything else we make.
Which shape for which gift
If it is a straightforward new-home gift, the house shape says exactly what it is at a glance. If it is going to a couple, for a wedding, an engagement or an anniversary, one of the heart shapes reads better on the day, and it is a fair companion piece to the maps in our wedding prints collection. The twine heart and the eucalyptus wreath lean more into home decor than event gift, so they suit someone settling into a place rather than marking one date. There is no wrong choice among the five, it mostly comes down to what the room already looks like.

Two more housewarming ideas while you are picking
If a house map is not quite right, we make two other pieces worth a look for a home or family gift. The Personalised Family Date Print sets out the dates that matter to a household, birthdays, an anniversary, the day you moved in, along with your own wording underneath. It starts at £7 as an Email PDF, £10 for an A5 print, up to £27 framed in white or black (£30 with a grey mount at A3). And the Personalised Welly Boot Family Print, garden fence design lines up a welly boot for each person in the household along a garden fence, with a title and an optional wreath (there is even a Christmas wreath option if you are buying ahead). It runs from £8 as a digital file up to £31 framed. Both feel more personal than a straight map if you would rather the print was built from names than streets.

Made to order in Hessle
Every framed piece is finished in a solid wood frame, made in the UK, in black, white or grey. The front is 1.2mm acrylic rather than glass, which is worth knowing if the print is going somewhere a door gets slammed or little hands are about, a frame full of shattered glass is not a good afternoon. Because these are personalised to your address and wording, they are not returnable for a change of mind, so take a proper look at the proof we send before you approve it. That step exists precisely so a wrong postcode or a misspelled name does not end up framed on someone's wall.
Where to start
Have a browse through the housewarming prints and gifts collection to see all five house map shapes together, then send us the address and the wording you want. If you are after more new-home ideas beyond the maps, our guide to new home gift ideas covers the door print and the WiFi print too. We will send a proof back once we have your details, and get it made once you are happy.
